Hi-fi and studio audio spanning several decades: amplifiers, receivers, cassette decks, reel-to-reel recorders, mixing desks, synthesisers, effects units. We concentrate on equipment where a repair makes economic sense.

Amplifiers and receivers: failed output transistors, scratchy potentiometers, oxidised input switches, broken speaker relays. Cassette decks and reel-to-reel machines: stretched or melted belts, sticky pinch rollers, magnetised and worn heads. Synthesisers: faulty keybeds, dried-out capacitors, leaked memory batteries.

We set bias and azimuth on cassette decks and reel-to-reel machines, adjust the quiescent current of output stages and demagnetise tape heads. If you have a service manual, bring it: many older machines call for manufacturer-specific test procedures that we otherwise have to reconstruct.

CHF 80 for the first hour, then a CHF 120 hourly rate. Where fault-finding turns out to be involved, we give you an interim update before the work passes two hours, so you can decide whether we carry on.

No repairs on current AV receivers with HDMI boards: the proprietary chips cannot be sourced. No loudspeaker cone repairs; we recommend specialist providers for that. No modifications to a working device: we repair what is broken, not what someone wants to be different.
