Twentieth-century precision mechanics: typewriters, turntables, 8 mm and 16 mm film projectors, clock movements, mechanical calculators. Cleaning, adjustment, replacement of worn parts. For especially delicate movements we work with specialists and refer you on.

Typewriters: mechanisms gummed up after long storage, snapped ribbon springs, seized carriage return, bent typebars. Turntables: perished belts, hardened idler-wheel drives, gritty tonearm bearings, worn styli. Film projectors: broken claw springs, worn pressure felts, dried-out grease. Clock movements: resinified oil, worn bearings, broken mainsprings.

A full clean of a mechanical typewriter, stripped down completely, cleaned and re-lubricated, takes four to eight hours depending on model and condition. A turntable service with a new belt and realignment typically takes two to four hours. We choose lubricants to suit the application.

CHF 80 for the first hour, then a CHF 120 hourly rate. On mechanical devices the diagnosis is often quicker than on electronics. If a spare part is hard to source, we obtain a quote and let you know before ordering.

No restoration of high-value clock movements; we are happy to refer you to specialist clockmakers. No polishing or veneer work on cases. No repairs where sourcing the parts would cost more than the whole device is worth. We tell you that openly.
