Unlike kits with microcontrollers, the electronic dice uses only discrete logic ICs. Counters, gates and flip-flops, the classic building blocks of digital electronics, ensure that pressing the button displays a number from 1 to 6 on the seven LEDs. No code, just circuit logic.

The electronic dice is an in-house development project of Enter Academy. It's been used for years in workshops with young people from age 10, as an introduction to discrete digital electronics. Robust enough for everyday workshop use and exciting enough for experienced hobbyists who want to understand how counters and gates work together.
