Walk-in computer

The exhibit shows what normally happens inside a computer behind a metal lid and in milliseconds. Using an oversized keyboard you pick a program, a game or a word processor for instance, and confirm with ENTER. The data flow then travels visibly through the room: from storage into RAM, and from there into the processor. The power supply shows how much electricity the chosen program draws, compared against everyday appliances. A game needs many times what an email does. The control electronics and the technical build are ours.
